DISHY GUY MONDAY!

Katie Mac always has some of the best looking guys for her DGM, but after reading a blog on finger/lip biting and stalking ... I decided to post a pic of a famous person that I am would be oh so tempted to stalk ... Trace Adkins! From his tall rugged good looks to his deep sexy voice ... WoooooEeeeeee!

Uh hum, of course you all know that I would never stalk anyone ... right? I mean you know I bought those high powered night vision binoculars for uhmmm, hockey, right?! I mean doesn't everyone carry a bag in their truck with binoculars and a 10x zoom digital camera ... I mean gawsh, you never know when you might need those.

Happy Halloween!

BFI ROCKS!!!!!

To say that I was excited about going to see Billy Idol is an understatement ... I had a slight buzzing high all day in anticipation. Of course being ME I was running a bit late as I zoomed down the block to pickup my good friend Ang.

I had made prior arrangements to use a friend's (person who bought the tickets) camera phone ... but when we left she was not home. She had left to run some errands expecting to be back in plenty of time and it didn't happen.

When we arrived at Verizon Theatre there weren't very many people there; but as it got closer and closer to show time they began showing up. The turnout still wasn't quite what I expected, but HEY the Astros were playing in the World Series ... to some there may have been a choice to make as to what to do with their Saturday night, WRONG choice peoples. You missed BFI to watch the Astros lose a WS game!?!

Billy and the band hit the stage and time fled as he rocked his way through 2.5 hours. It was a fantastic show! He sang songs from GenX, from the 80's, his new stuff (which was quite good), a couple of covers, and lyrics put to existing music about the Katrina victims. The song about the Katrina victims appeared to have been recently completed, as he sang the lyrics straight off of a handwritten piece of paper.

So I was a bit bummed about not having the camera phone ... but when we got back to the truck later that night I realized that we have .... AUDIO BLOGGER on here! Not only do I have the AB number saved to my cell phone, but I had the damn phone in my pocket ... grrrrr! I was sooo mad at myself ... geeez what an idiot ... hmmm, guess I'm still a bit peeved at myself.

Anyway, the music was rockin' HOT ... but one of the nicest surpises was when this 50 year old rocker peeled off his sweaty tee to expose Oh so nicely defined abs, chest and arms. Damn! And he's 50?

The music was better than ever ... I could have stood one my feet for another 2.5 hours ... Billy sounded great and OoooWeee that man works out! I wouldn't have missed it and I'm so thankful that my friend did this for me.

Welcome to the Pink Poodle Parlor ...

During our trip to see Thomas the Train, we were able to enjoy a puppet show given by Mr. Puppet himself. During the show, my mind turned to thoughts of one of my fave Aunts and her predilection for all things POODLE. So just for my Aunt L *waves hello* here are pics of the lovely dancing poodle puppets!

Going to the Chapel...

I know this is supposed to be Taboo Tuesday, but I just can't think of anything and anyway something happened today that was ....

Unfuckingbelievable ... YES ... YES.... YES! My best friend just bought me two tickets to see ....

BILLY IDOL!!!!!!!

I've been whining about not getting to go to the show for weeks now. I've not seen Billy since I was 15 ... no I'm not telling you how long ago that was ... and truly wanted to see him perform again. However, being that my cash flow would not allow me to purchase said tickets, I had resigned myself to the fact that I would not be listening to Billy Idol belt out White Wedding LIVE.

My friend and I work together, and for different reasons, have both had a pretty suck-a day. So, when she leaned into my cube and laid an envelope on my keyboard I was like, "Oh please tell me this is something good, because if it isn't I'm so not opening it!" She smiled and said something like "open it and see." I gingerly opened the envelope to find a printout of a ticket order for Billy Idol.

Peoples of the Internet ... I became teary-eyed ... I had to grab a tissue! My friend, who had her home partially destroyed in hurricane Rita ... who has no stove ... who is still sleeping in her living room ... bought ME tickets to see Billy Idol! Do I have the bestest friend in the world or what!

Puck It!

HOCKEY TIME!!!!!!!

Tonight is the season opener for the Aeros and I feel like it has been close to forever since I've seen a live game. I've been walking around all day at work with a stupid smile on my face. I mus say thank you to my cube-mates who have not complained once about me spontaneously bursting out in song ... off key.

This year has not been a great one for me and mine and this summer has been spectacularly crappy. Two major surgeries for my dad and one more to go. ::sigh:: Illness, money issues and just all around stress ... has made a mess of this year. Other than the upcoming Holiday season, the only other thing I've been looking forward to is the beginning of hockey season and by George ... today is the day!

To all the other hockey (Aeros) fans ... see ya at the game!

Karen Needs ....

Thanks to Hatleyman who got this idea from some blog chicas! As Chris stated on his blog ... go to Google and search "your name" needs, then post the top five. I thought it would be fun and interesting ... little did I know.

1. Karen needs a lobotomy. (again?)

2. Karen needs a new job. (actually I like my job)

3. Karen needs money to buy the roller skate she so desperately wants. (sigh, get the first aid kit out)

4. Karen needs a Man. (Duh!)

5. Karen needs Dr. Pelvic's knowledge. (Do what?)

This was interesting, fun and somehow strangely appropriate.
